Herman Leonard Intermediate School. Overall, my kids have loved attending, and I am pleased with the education they are receiving. Garcia and Mrs. McMillan, the two veterans, are outstanding teachers who make every effort to make learning fun and communicate with parents when issues arise.

The rest of the teachers, for the most part, are approachable and do a good job. Unfortunately the same cannot be said of Mrs. Edwards who, with poor classroom management and her inability to communicate expectations clearly or grade on time has started to pull the program down. I have been given serious thought to pulling my kids from this otherwise amazing program just to spare them the experience of her horrible attitude.

As much as I have told my kids that they have to learn how to deal with different styles and that they will not always have a choice, I would hope that Mrs. Edwards rethinks coming back to the classroom soon. I have two children at Oak Ridge, a kindergartener and a 3rd grader, so far my children have had a great experience, the teachers are hard working, caring, and professional.

One of the best things about this school is the parent involvement! Parents run an art program, the k-1 P. Program and are active as room parents and on fund raisers.
