Phoenix ufo explained

They changed shape after a while, moving from a triangular to rectangular configuration, then disappeared one by one. The Air Force had no explanation for the lights, and air traffic controllers said that whatever was causing the lights didn't show up on radar. Theories abounded, with UFOs and aliens of course being very popular. One UFO enthusiast named Jeff Woolwine said that he is certain that the lights are from alien spaceships.

The case took a twist two days later when a local television station aired a startling confession by an anonymous hoaxer: He had created the UFO lights using road flares tied to helium balloons, launching them in one-minute increments. Some people were amused by the hoax, others were angered, and many conspiracy-minded UFO buffs were skeptical of such a mundane explanation. It's true that just because a person has confessed to a hoax doesn't mean the case is solved.

After all, people often falsely confess to things they didn't do—including murder for example, John Mark Carr falsely confessed to killing JonBenet Ramsey in A confession especially an anonymous one by itself is not credible unless corroborated by physical evidence.

In this case, however, the evidence is overwhelming that the Phoenix Lights were indeed a hoax. Let's consider the facts. They rose into the air together, stayed in more or less the same formation while in the same air currents, then drifted apart as they gained altitude.

Also, the mysterious lights drifted toward the east—the same direction as the wind. If the lights were the only visible part of a metallic spaceship or airplane, they would have been clearly on radar.

However, "UFOs" consisting of small balloons, road flares, and some fishing line would be invisible to radar. They did not zoom away at high speed, as one might expect from an aircraft.

Nor did they all suddenly and mysteriously disappear. Instead, eyewitnesses reported that the lights were visible for between 15 and 30 minutes, until they went out one by one. The Phoenix lights — the unexplained phenomenon of the lights in the sky, have baffled the UFO researchers for years, now. What is Phoenix? When we refer to the Phoenix lights, we are talking about the event that happened in the capital of the Southwestern U.

During the month of February and March of , there were several sightings of a triangular or a boomerang shaped object, flying over various areas throughout the American Southwest. Thus, Phoenix lights is one of a series of those events. The unidentified flying objects were also observed skies of the US states of Nevada and the Mexican state of Sonora.

On March 13, , thousands of people witnessed the lights of varying descriptions, between and MST, in a space of about km. The lights were observed from the Nevada line, through Phoenix, to the edge of Tucson. The entire event involved the two distinct occurrences: first, a series of stationary lights seen in the Phoenix area; second, a triangular formation of lights seen to pass over the state.

A couple of days before the occurrence of this incident, people at the Naval Hood Reservation were already seeing the things in the sky. However, they discounted the event as a natural occurrence. About the event which occurred, people claim that they saw the crafts, at the lower altitudes, gliding very slowly. Some people say that it did take off at tremendous speed, over a mile or two-mile ride, in some estimations. People on the roads, stopped their cars to witness this amazing event, and after the crafts went on by, they drove to their respective destinations.

It was more of a personal experience for each person who saw the craft, or, in fact, felt the craft. Some people say that they had a feeling of peace come over them; however, nobody had the fear-based experience. More than twenty years after the incident, people are coming out and talking about their experiences of witnessing the event. They took it so long because according to them, they really had a hard time being able to talk about it.

People felt as if a numbing sensation was over them, not allowing them to talk about it. In Phoenix, the first sighting was done by the family of four. The family watched a UFO come down from the Prescott area until it passed directly overhead at low altitude and continue on toward Piestewa Peak. Able to see where its wings passed over the ridgetop in silhouette, its wingspan was later measured using laser surveying equipment to be nearly 5 football fields wide.

The event was totally bizarre!
